Request an invitation

How to request an invitation.

The request takes a few minutes and a person, not a system, reads it. Here is what it asks, who reads it and what happens in the week after you send it, so there are no surprises.

Before you start

Two things decide who gets in, and it is kinder to say them first. You must be a technology leader: you lead technology, or the people who do. And you must not be joining to sell, recruit, generate business or perform. Anyone who is, however good they are, won't get in, and if they slip through they are removed. If both of those are fine, you are probably one of us.

What the request asks

Seven short steps, with a person at every one. It opens with a question, the kind a session asks, and a private box to answer it in. Whatever you type there stays on your screen and is never sent to us. Then: which of a handful of statements about what technology leaders carry are true for you right now. The first upcoming session you would like a seat at, with a suggestion or two based on what you told us. Your name, work email, role and organisation, plus your LinkedIn profile if you want to give it. How often you can realistically make it. How you found us, and whether a member is bringing you. That is all. No essay, no application form, no CV.

Before you send it you can read how we look after your details, in ordinary language. Your request is read by the team and by no one else. If we can't offer you a seat we keep it for 12 months in case a place opens in a later season, then delete it.

What happens next

  1. Within a week

Someone from the team reads your request and looks you up. Every request, personally.

  2. If it's a fit

You'll hear from Angelique, sometimes with a quick call and sometimes straight to your held seat.

  3. Your first session

The invitation lands, you show up and you say as much or as little as you like.

  4. A week later

The guest's book arrives at your door, with a note.

If we can't fit you in this season we'll say so plainly and tell you when the next door opens. Membership is not guaranteed and that is what keeps the room useful for the people in it.
